We strive to maximize your pet's quality of life, both physically and mentally.
So what can you or your clients expect if they are interested in rehabilitation services for their pet?
Dr. McRae will first perform an initial consultation and evaluation. P This includes a complete physical and neurologic exam, palpation, observation of the patient in various positions, measurements of the patient’s muscle mass and range of motion at problem areas, Q&A session with the owner to determine full understanding of history/home life/exercise/diet/treatment goals, and finally the creation of a rehabilitation and exercise plan that fits the pet's needs and owner's lifestyle. Modalities are discussed with the owner. Most can be started at the initial consultation appointment.
After meeting with the client, Dr. McRae will decide on a course of treatment and will review the rehabilitation plan followed by demonstrating the exercise program and performing modalities decided upon for the patient.
Exercise and modality sessions can be provided by Animal Rehabilitation & Wellness- this may help owners who are interested in rehabilitation but are physically unable to perform the exercises and techniques with their pets. Recheck exams will be scheduled on a case by case basis to evaluate the patient’s progress. Exercises can be changed or updated at this time to keep the patient challenged and moving forward.
Clients can contact us Monday- Friday between 9am-5pm via phone or email with any questions or concerns. Reports, recommendations and updates will always be forwarded to the primary care veterinarian to stay up to date on the patient’s progress.
